Alright guys, it's time to get on the trail, the Rusty Trails that is!

DARREN

On Rusty Trails is a fast-paced 2D platformer. You play as Elvis, a small red triangular robot who loses his house after a big green globby thing destroys it during a storm. Thankfully, he's still got the warranty for his house, so he sets off to the refund office to set things right!

BAJO

This is one of those tight responsive platformers that will put your reflexes through their paces. Elvis is kind of like a agile little flea, jumping quickly and nimbly from surface to surface he's incredibly responsive and satisfying to control!

HEX

And he also magnetically attaches to any surface he touches, so he can walk upside down or up walls. But things start to get tricky once he stumbles across a race of water monster things who like to hang out on blue surfaces.

DARREN

Affirmative, and clearly the blue guys and the red robots don't like to share their things, as their surfaces are magnetically repelled from each other, they try to land on a blue surface and it will disappears out from under you! Ooh-er!

But Elvis soon stumbles across a blue suit that he can quickly switch into and pass for one of the blue guys, so he can use their surfaces. So the game is basically all about switching between red and blue forms, usually in mid-air, to make sure you can land safely.

And they constantly ramp up the challenge. First you'll find waterfalls and rain clouds that you can't pass through when you're red, these laser-lava-ry things you can't go through when you're blue show up, then there's big green blobs that you can't touch at all.

What did you guys think of the story?

Well it's quite minimal, with only a few little cut scenes. But even so, they've managed to cram in a fairly touching little tale here with some cute characters and it deals with some surprisingly deep themes of conflict and outsiders not being welcome.

I just liked that it was mostly about Robots.

You love any game with Robots DARREN. I feel like you're biased towards robot based games. This was tough but it's fun and also, it's got a bit of heart. So I'm giving it 3.5 out of ten rubber chickens.

Yeah, I think this is a good game. They play with the switching mechanic really well, and it's a satisfying challenge to conquer. So I'm giving it 3.5 rubber chickens as well.
